Common Holds
Overview
Basic hold
Sitting at the head, let your finger pads rest under the transverse processes, in the groove lateral to the spinous processes. Your finger pads can engage gently to the ceiling. This is a great hold for C3 down to C6. You can move your hands further down to contact C7 and the cervical thoracic junction (CTJ) but it is a little tricker than the middle neck. For the CTJ the two handed hold on the spine or the thoracic outlet holds can be easier on the hands and wrists.
